Narralume is the lighting practice of artist & craftsman ; Mathieu Zurstrassen, based in Brussels, Belgium.

Each piece begins in the workshop. Brass, aluminium, and bronze are shaped, assembled, and finished by hand. Light is embedded within the mass of the object, allowing it to exist simultaneously as sculpture and illumination.

Works are produced as small editions or unique pieces. Each is numbered and signed. Stone and ceramic appear only through collaborative projects.

Light is treated as a material. It has weight, direction, duration, and effect. Function is not limited to use. Form is never ornamental.
